Patients with Marfan's syndrome (Fig. 14.35) are usually well above average in height but within the normal range. They have long limbs with narrow hands and long slender fingers. Their arm span is greater than their height, and the lower segment is much greater than the upper segment. Hyperextensible joints, kyphoscoliosis, deformities of the rib cage, and dislocation of the lens are also present. Death from a dissecting aneurysm may occur in early adult life.
